The Hulk Action Figure was in the first Marvel Legends Action Figures Collection and has resurfaced in many of the other Marvel Legends Action Figure Series. But who is Hulk?

The Hulk is a superhero who appeared in comicbooks put out by Marvel Comics. He was dreamt up by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby. The Hulk character kicked off in the early sixties. The hobbyist magazine called Wizard listed the Hulk as the 7th most outstanding Marvel Comics character. Empire Magazine listed Hulk as the 14th leading comicbook character overall, and the fifth highest placed in the Marvel group.

hulk-action-figureThe Hulk is the supercharged and hotheaded alter-ego of the retreated and restrained physicist doctor Bruce Banner. The Hulk comes out not long after Bruce Banner is unexpectedly exposed to the eruption of a test explosion of a gamma bomb that he devised. Afterward, Banner will involuntarily metamorphose into the Hulk, rendered as a large, furious, humanoid ogre, leading to intense problems in Bruce Banner’s daily life. Stan Lee stated the Hulk’s inspiration was a combining of Doctor Jekyll & Mister Hyde and Frankenstein.

Though the Hulk’s color has changed throughout the fictional character’s history, the most common color is green. As Hulk, Bruce Banner is capable of important feats of power, which step-ups in direct proportionality to the Hulk’s anger. Heavy emotions like anger, sorrow and terror are also triggers for driving Banner’s shift into the Hulk. A frequent plot line is the chase of both Bruce Banner and the Hulk by the law or the military, because of the demolition he induces.

The Hulk has since represented depicted in assorted other media, such as by Lou Ferrigno on a live action TV show, 6 TV films, several Hulk Action Figures, and an animated show in addition to as videogames.

His story began while he was overseeing the test of a gamma bomb experiment for the United States Defense Dept. at a nuclear New Mexico research center. Dr. Banner selflessly raced to tsave an unknowing adolescent who had drifted onto the test area as the countdown ticked down. After shoving Rick Jones to refuge in a close trench, Dr. Banner was hit full power by the bomb explosion. He came through, but was irradiated by the harmful gamma rays.

Initially, Dr. Banner would metamorphose into the beastly Hulk just at sundown, and return to mortal form at break of day. In time, his shifts into the childlike Hulk were set off by the firing of adrenaline when he was very agitated, regardless what time of day. The green Hulk has little of Dr. Banner’s recollection and intellect, and is easily angered which makes him a endangerment to society.

Since Dr. Banner’s first shift into the Hulk, armed forces run by the unrelenting Gen.Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross have tracked him down non-stop. Ironically, General Ross was dad of his belated wife named Betty.

For a brief while, Dr. Banner successfully dealt his circumstance with radiation therapy and was maintaining plenty of his personality when he converted into the Hulk to contain himself in that phase. Later, he assisted in founding the Avengers and also got a presidential pardon. In the end though, the Hulk returned into a beastly menace.

While I enjoy my classic Hulk Action Figure from the Marvel Legends Action Figures series one, you can see how far Action Figures have come when comparing it to my more recent “Movie Hulk” Action Figure. He’s a great character to collect.
